The award-winning Portage Central Theatre Department presents, Urinetown, the musical--- we know, the title’s awful!! Portage Central theatre students set the stage in the not-so-distant future where a terrible water shortage and 20-year drought has led to a government ban on private toilets and a proliferation of paid public toilets, owned and operated by a single megalomaniac company: the Urine Good Company. If the poor don’t obey the strict laws prohibiting free urination, they’ll be sent to the dreaded and mysterious “Urinetown.” After too long under the heel of the malevolent Caldwell B. Cladwell, the poor stage a revolt, led by a brave young hero, fighting tooth and nail for the freedom to pee “wherever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like, and with whomever you like.” Urinetown is a brilliant satire that shines in our current political climate addressing themes of capitalism, environmentalism, injustice in the legal system, and personal freedom vs. social responsibility.  Urinetown is a wickedly funny, fast-paced, and surprisingly intelligent comedic romp. This show is produced following Covid safe guidelines and will feature limited seating and unlimited streaming! Tickets will go on sale to the public on January 25, 2021. The show runs from February 5-14, 2021.

Thank You For Supporting The Arts at PCHS

For every dollar that you spend on one of our many performances every year, 25 cents goes towards supporting all of our arts programs. That means your ticket not only goes to help the program hosting the show you're seeing, but it's also supporting all of our programs in everything from auditorium supplies and improvements to band instruments to choir uniforms.  All of it helps make sure our arts programs are alive and well. So, thank you. Thank you for helping make Portage Central High School the great place for arts and artists it is today and will continue to be tomorrow.
